Newsletter 2011 Mansfield Bushmarket Melbourne Cup Weekend Market
Dear Stallholders
Welcome to the Melbourne Cup Weekend Market for 2011
AGM : The AGMwas held on 13/10/2011 and the following were re-elected. Doug George, Graham Tie, Jan Stone, April Currie, Joan Tie and we welcomed Eric Burt. Graeme Stoney from the Historical Society was the guest speaker.
THANK YOU : This market would not be the success that it is without the help of a number of people. The Bush Market Committee would like to thank the following; Mansfield Masonic Lodge for line marking and the erection of the marquees, Lions Club of Mansfield for the dismantling and putting away of the marquees, SES, Mansfield Scouts who do a sterling job putting out the bins, and bringing them in the next day after they are emptied, and of course you the stallholders, everyone of you make the market the success it is.
Finally: As Christmas id approaching fast the Bushmarket Committee would like to wish every-one of you a very Happy and Merry Christmas and a Safe New Year. We hope it brings all that you and your family wish. We hope to see you in 2012.
**********************HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE*********************
APPLICATION FORMS : Applications for the 2012 markets are available on the Events link. Please read carefully to ensure all necessary paperwork is attached. Please do not cut the application form as the small pieces can easily be lost which can make things difficult.
MARKET SITES : It has become necessary to remark all outside sites as trees have grown. This is to be done soon after the cup weekend market. Please be aware that your receipt and site plan may not come until the end of November or early December.
INFORMATION MARQUEE: The information marquee is situated at the beginning of the market (round-about end) and this time was maned by Air Force Cadets. Mr John Currie is their leader and was there to guide them and helped with any inquiries.
PARKING:Please be aware that if you have a vehicle that exceeds 4 metres and you are late, you may have to park elsewhere and walk your goods to your site. Once again the committee stress that parking is a privilege, NOT a right. Parking IS NOT allocated with an application for a site.
RUBBISH: It is the responsibility of all stallholders to make sure that their site is left clean & tidy. Bins that are provided are for the public to use, NOT stallholders, please take your rubbish away with you.
TELEPHONE: The Bushmarket phone is available between the hours of 8.30 am & 8.00 pm, except for Tuesdays. When leaving a message speak the number slowly and clearly so your call can be returned.
DOGS: The committee cannot stress enough that dogs are not permitted at the market. The by-laws officers have the power to lay charges, and have done so resulting in a court case.
SITE LINES: It has been made known to the Bushmarket Committee that a number of stallholders have their googs, that is trailers, signs, etc outside their marked lines. Please arrive early to arrange vehicled etc within your marked area. This is an OH&S situation and accidents ARE NOT wanted.
TOILETS: Toilets are situated at the sports complex, at the playground, the round-about and the Church of England allow their toilets to be used by stallholders. Thank you to them.
CLOSING DATES : The closing date on applications is for administration purposes. Do not leave it to the last minute to try to get in. The cup weekend market had a waiting list of 25, so the early bird catches the worm.
RULES & REGULATIONS : Please follow this link to keep up to date with any changes which may occur from time to time. Rules & Guidelines.
The committee hope that a good days trading is had by all and if you are staying we hope you enjoy all that Mansfield has to offer and have a safe trip home.
